Much has been made of the incredible amount of money the RNC spent to wardrobe Palin and her children over the past few weeks, which has led me to daydream about what I would do with that same sum, were I to find it on the street.
I definitely wouldn't put it to clothes, I know how to dress well on a budget and refuse to pay full price for anything. Neiman is fun to walk through, but not really my style. My day to day work wardrobe of pants, shirts and the rare skirt I usually buy at Gap, Target (they have great bargains and cute stuff!) and even Old Navy. Shoes I do spluge on, mainly because I so rarely buy any (something it seems Obama and I share in common!)
I would absolutely use about a third of the largesse to pay off my student loan debt, thus giving someone at Sallie Mae a heart attack, given that I can barely pay the interest at the moment. My credit card debt would be vanquished, too. I might, might, buy a MINI Cooper, though I don't need a car. A top of the line MacBook. And I would send lavish, surprise gifts to close friends and family.
The rest would go into my rainy day fund.
So much to be done with all that money, it's a shame that Palin put it all to boring clothes.
